Default Removing 94-97 "Grill Bar"

I first of all feel rather stupid posting this, but Searching didn't help and I'm not best friends with the local body shop people. (As a matter of fact I've never been there)

..In order to get better flow to the intercooler. How is this usually done? Just cut shave, smooth, and paint? I know there's alot of black plastic up in there - is any of this neccesary? I'm not planning on doing this anytime soon. I just want to gather some information and maybe take on some tips in doing this.

Thanks guys.

Unless you want to buy it from a body kit, its goina be kinda hard to do this if you dont know how or/and you dont have the tools. What I'm doing is removing the black plastic and the middle bar. Fiberglass it to make it smooth and a bit stronger. If there are weak points than try to add supports. I'm also going with chrome or flat black bars inside the hole to keep all animals from hitting my radiator! I'm thinking flat black right now because people dont notice it as much. All in all it should talk around 1-2 nights and 5-10 hours if you have to make the bars yourself.

I was just talking about removing the middle bar. Are you putting in more little chrome bars in your grille? ..like those trucks?

use a dremel or a saw and just cut away at it. its simple. i did it to my 94 bumper and just recently did it to my 00 bumper. just cut the middle section. leave the sides so it hides the intercooler piping.

Hm - yeah. Any pics? I'm mainly talking about the bar that's the same color as the car - on the 1st style of the Gen3 Integras. But removing that black plastic with the dremel's cool too. Any pics would be appreciated.

I cut my bar out and it looks pretty clean from 15 ft away and at night but there will be a hole shaped triangle in your bumber where the bar was at the ends. I know that was a shitty way of explaining but if you look at it youll know what i mean. Im getting a paint job soon so everything will be cleaned up nicely

A very very old pic (I don't remember who's car this was):

He simply used a dremel and hacked away. You can still see parts of the bar. Not perfect, but it looks okay from far away. It looks pretty naked without a lip. And yes, the sideskirts make it look mismatched...but that's because he had an aftermarket front bumper before he downgraded.

perfect example see the odd shapesd wholes it leaves. Only difference with mine is that my car is green so it's not as noticable as this white teg.
