Default A quick Synchromesh question

I went through what I could find on this site, but I'm still a little confused as to which fluid to run. I'm putting in 2 trannys over the next couple of weeks and want to use synchromesh in both. One is a S1 non-lsd and the other is a YS1 lsd tranny. What I've gather is that I should use the friction modified stuff for the LSD, but the regular stuff in the S1. Is that correct? Also, no one in town sells the FM version, so I have to go to a Mitsubishi dealer to buy a friction modifer additive (or at least I've been told to do so).

My plan was to buy 5 bottles of regular synchromesh to split between the two trannys and 1 bottle of the FM additive to put in the lsd tranny.

Do this sound right? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'd rather be made to look like a fool on here than have a tranny blow up on me.

It depends on what type of lsd you have if you need to add friction modifiers.

You only need the fm if it is a clutch type lsd. If it is oem honda lsd it is a gear type and does not require a friction modifier. Ps if you didnt know syncromesh is the same if you buy it in the penzoil bottle.

The LSD is OEM, so I'm assuming it's a gear type LSD. So from the sounds of it, I don't need the friction modifier for either. I'll try the parts stores for the Penzoil stuff (thanks for the tip), then head over to a GM dealer if I can't find it.
