Default Check out this really sweet downpipe and this car I picked up...

SWEEEEEEEET!

So I bought this car from someone on this board not to long ago. I was a little surprised that it turned out to be a girl but I doubt she was the one that had this horrendous work done on this car. After following her threads back on this board it looks like she got in a little over her head with this car and wanted to get rid of it. Let me say that this is the most ghetto car I've ever worked on.
The entire interior was half assed together. Everything had one screw in it where there should have been 4 or 5 and just about every plastic or metal clip was missing from the car. Just about all the panels were incorrectly mounted and everything was just a little bit dirty.
This was one of those cars that looked ok at first but then when you start digging around just about everything was done wrong on it. So what I did was just completely take out the interior as well as this ridiculous wiring job that someone did. Whoever did this really should not be working on cars, please throw away all your tools. Now I'm not complaining because the car has a lot of good parts on it. It's just the way it was all put together is really kinda funny. I finally got the interior all back together (the correct way). I think I spent about $50 in clips at the dealer. haha

Stripped out the interior

YEAH!!! nice wiring buddy

Yes, that is JB Weld holding that downpipe together

I didn't want to ever take that bolt out anyway!!

I was wondering what that smell was as I drove the car about two hours from Hollywood to San Diego. Smelled like feet but it was really burning JB weld.

Here's the car, the outside is decent but the paint job looks like it was someone's first attempt at painting in there garage.

Yeah, I figured I'd have to put some work into this car but it's been two years since i had a turbo Honda and I kinda missed it. The car is actually going back to N/A for a track day at Spring Mountain in April. Once that's done I'll probably pickup a Hondata and redo the downpipe and exhaust. Hopefully my welding skills will improve by that time.

Yes, shiny stuff is always good, haha. Like I mentioned, the car did come with some good parts: SC61 turbo, Inline Pro stainless manifold, AVC-R, Type R interior, KYB agxs, Comptech sways, and some other small things. I was also able to sell some stuff off it too. So far the VAFC, Apex turbo timer, FMU, and autometer gauge bezel have all been sold. Those rims and tires gotta go to so if anyone wants painted black 97 gsr rims with 195/50/tires that are almost brand new, let me know.

DAMN! hahaha That's not a job...that's a freakin' nightmare Is that a Type-R armrest thingy (the center console by the handbrake)??? I'm liking the way that looks even if it isn't. Good luck, and it's good to know it's being done the right way this time...I bet the car loves you now for saving it

Hey now, don't knock that bolt! That's what I had to do in order to clear my A/C comp. Oh well though, I'm just glad I'm taking the A/C out and flipping the exhaust around

I've got the Drag kit too and that downpipe bolt is annoying when you have to take it off and on

Nah, I dont think I got worked. The downpipe will probably cost me no more then $30 to make. Unless someone wants to sell me an inline pro stainless DP at a good price. The flanges are still good, just gotta redo the piping. I HAVE spent a little more time on the car then originally planned but money wise I haven't really spent much.

Yes, it is a Type R armrest cover thing. It is kinda nice but you have to make sure your arm is clean all the time otherwise it messes up the Alcantara (suede like fabric in the ITR interior) and starts to look crappy.

just an fyi, the bolt in the down pipe like that has to be there, unless you stud it, but for those that dont, atleast it is made that way. like like a drag d.p. that has been molested

Probably is a drag DP. The piping looked Drag. I'm thinking about switching the exhaust housing to a 4 bolt since i have to make a new downpipe anyway. The 5 bolt is a PITA.

Thanks, I'll post up some more pics when it's done. I'm not too scared, I've had cars worse then this before. This is was my last one. I'd have to say that one was worse as it had been sitting in a towyard for 6 months before I got it.

I probably shouldnt say but....the person I bought it from was wild0ne21. It appears as though she is no longer on this board. The person SHE bought it from and said did all the work on it was deka' or something like that. It's funny cuz when I looked up all the old posts about it everyone was saying what a nice car it was. MUUUHAHAHAHA!!!!.
