Default awesome i fixed my idle problems

so for the last few months my car has been stalling a lot and running really rough at idle. after i get on it a little bit and let off the gas i kinda have to heel-toe the gas to keep the car from stalling out and surging.

well today i was bored on my day off so i decided to do a little wire tuck. while doing that i decided i would rip out my evap canister and EGR. i made a little block off plate and unplugged all the EGR stuff and removed that solid vacum thing across the fuel rail and just ran a vacum line from the IM straight to the FPR.

i cranked up the car and let it warm up....no surging...hmm alright so then i take it for a spirited drive doing a few 2nd and 3rd gear pulls in boost. come to stop...and guess what, NO SURGE..at sits right at 8-900 rpm perfectly.

i guess my egr was clogged up this whole time.

If your area has emissions make sure to have it tested without the EGR. They don't always affect it much, but sometimes they can. Always best to be sure, if your area has emissions tests, before failing one and having licensing issues.

Clogged ports will not cause stumbling. A clogged EGR valve that won't close properly will. There would be no stumble if the ports were clogged because nothing would be getting through. You could have just cleaned the EGR by scrubbing the pintle with 0000 steel wool and spraying it out with choke cleaner.

nope no CEL since i blocked off egr, if do i know where its coming from tho if it does happen i will probably just rewire something to fool the ecu into not tripping a code for EGR

i know i wont get one for the evap bc i was reading on here yesterday and apparently the OBD1 ecu's do not look for an evap sensor but OBD2 ecu's do...im running a P06 ecu right now.
