i've noticed a tube under my car that starts at the top of the fuel filter i think (the big black can that is on the firewall below the fuse box) and goes down the firewall, starts to go under the car, and then just stops like it was cut or something. its a pretty big tube, probably 1/2" inner diameter and a 1/8" thick wall. is this some kind of evaporated fuel line or something? and if so, is it supposed to just stop like that under the car? i have a 98 base prelude FYI, thanks for any help. also, its just bothering me that this line empties out into the open atmosphere, and would it be possible for unfiltered air to go up the tube, into the black can, and into the motor?

 

if it is a clear tube it is prolly the water drain, you'll also see those in the back and also from your sunroof.

 

found out the "black can" is oficially listed as "canister 2". any idea what it does?

 

thats the vent for the evap system, leave it alone, it just vents vapors to the atmosphere
