Default oil pressure sensor removal

motor in this case is an f22a1 from my 92 LX.

i'm trying to remove my oil pressure sensor but cannot even remove the darn wiring plug. is it screwed in? maybe from age it's been fused. is there a technique to get the wiring plug off?

also after removal of the plug what size is the sensor? my searching found that a 24mm deep socket works but there was also a reference to a 15/16" socket?! please clarify.

thanks in advance!

You might need to crack open the rubber shroud around the oil sensor to get it to unplug; it is a 'bullet' type connector; The best socket to use is a 24mm 6 point deep well socket, don't over tighten when installing the new one the stem is easy to snap off.
I usually put a smear of hondabond on the threads of the new unit.

15/16 is the socket i used for mine.

you do have to break off that rubber thing to get that connector off, it is a pain.

just remember, when installing the new sensor, the threads are pipe threading (means they are tapered) put some thread sealant on the threads and skrew it in snug, do not over tighten it

I agree with these guys, pull the rubber shroud off the sensor, then you can pull the plug right off. It is 24mm but 15/16" should work fine too.

thanks fellas. yeah i had to break the rubber piece as it was brittle over time. after that it just came off. i wanted to avoid breaking the rubber but it was almost impossible to do so. thanks again!

and yes 15/16" worked fine for me.
