Default ? about shifter in EK

Right now Im driving a 97 dx hatch with the stock d16y7. Does anyone else find that shifting to the right (5th and reverse) the gate seems much much harder to bump into than into 1st and 2nd?? Any ideas on how to fix it if thats not normal???

its normal. when i first got my car, i had a hard time downshifting from 5th to 4th because the gate is so wide over there.

you may have a problem then. i have a 96 cx. from 4 to 5 it feels like a stronger spring, but no where near what you are describing.

I have a 97 CX HB and 4th to 5th and back is not as you describe. There is a difference but not much to bother me, not like you describe.
