Default What else to Buy before Dyno Time...

Alright well im getting my car on the dyno again, mostly to check the fuel pressure and make sure nothings out of wack. Its reading 52 idle, 60 WOT

so far i have

hondata s200
walbro 255
chipped p28 ecu
cf intake
jdm header
2.5" greddy catback w/ high-flow cat'
178whp/134tq

jdm itr swap'

I was wondering if there are any cheap modifications that i should do now before i get it on the dyno, im paying for dyno time so if theres anything on the cheap side that would give good performance gains that need tuning, now would be the time to do it. Id say something under around 200 bucks.

If its just a car for the track, throw on a straight pipe. New plugs/wires if old. Short shifter (won't help #s on dyno but a fun mod). Fresh oil change, injector cleaner, clean air filter/ new cone....200 bucks ain't much to work with but there ya go.

Stickers as they equal 1 whp each.

Good luck with the pull!

New air filter, FPR are the ones I can think of. You can't do much for 200, I would do some maintenance stuff like plugs and wires as well.

As for the throttle body? The stock one is fine for almost all NA setups. You can bore it, but replacing it at this point is a waste of money.

.....do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

why is your fuel pressure reading so high?

no, i believe its a stock regulator with a b&m guage on top

i need to get an adjustable regulator, my last dyno graph shows that im losing power where i should have been gaining

An adjustable FPR will help the tuning process. The Hondata helps add fuel and the adj. FPR helps take away fuel. <----maybe I have that backwards . Other than that, as Dave mentioned, maintainence parts are recommended. New fuel filter, plug wires, plugs, air filter and such(did I miss anything?) should all be in good/great condition.

Skip the TB. I had mine bored and I didn't notice anything. The stocker is good to over 200whp easily .

Another cheap mod could be a Hondata IM gasket . Install is a bitch though.

just ordered or have waiting to be installed:

summitracing
msd 6
msd blaster SS coil
msd cap
msd rotor
msd wires
msd wiring harness
msd pill kit 8000-8800

Header Wrap- white
ngk plug's- 1283- bkr7e-11
red aem fpr
locking tie's

fresh oil
oil filter
fuel filter
seafoam for throttle body
sea-foam for oil
injector cleaner

i know, i know the msd crap isnt needed, but for me it is, my hondata is messed up and wont let me set a limiter, ive had 3 shops look at it with no luck, and i already had a msd box not in use so im throwing it on my car and usuing the pill kit to control the rev limiter.

thanks for the info guys, think im all set, i might pick up that gasket as well before tuning

sounds like a lil more than 200 bucks my friend, also remember that dyno numbers and actual are different for various reasons. ie a CAI intake will be more useful when you are moving...the whole ram air effect.

It sounds like your in good shape though, don't let anyone knock your MSD ignition there, I have one too and **** is thrown my way regularily .... they're just haters

Ill keep this short

Under Mach 0.5 the ram air concept is not applicable. At speeds that slow, air is considered incompressible.
