depending if its hid or non
non-hids: $1500-1800
hids:$2000+
try jdmtheory, icbmotorsports
ive personally dealt with both companies and both are great.

Define hard to do the conversion? You will have to drill out the spot weld on the rad support to replace with the JDM rad support, then fenders, headlights, bumper and all that other crap. It's not hard to do if you have patience to get everything to line up right. Cost, if you do it yourself depends on if you get the HID's or not. I've heard they are around 2k for the parts alone and another 2k or more to get it put on and painted.

Don't forget shipping in those prices. Those prices seem to be a bit low. When I did my JDM front the cheapest I could find an HID front end for was $2800 shipped and the cheapest non-HID was $2100 shipped. They have come down a bit since I did mine. You should also count on needing to paint the parts, they typically come from junk yard cars.

Real world estimate:
Parts $1800
Shipping: $200
Installation Labor: $500
Paint parts/labor: $800
Total: $3300

Can it be done cheaper? Yes. That is a good estimate to go by if you aren't doing to do the labor yourself. Most of the people that have JDM fronts that I know have been in some sort of an accident and used the insurance money for the JDM front.

That's hella expensive, I typically see HID FEs go for 2k and non-HIDs for 1500 CANADIAN!

But back to the original poster, if you want to be real happy you need to get the car repainted as much as they try to match the paint it is never perfect.

I'm sure there are some great deals that pop up from time to time. PasswordJDM sells the non-HID for $1700 plus $300 shipping to NJ (I said $1800 plus $200 shipping). The HID ranges from $2500 to $2900 on PasswordJDM depending on quality of parts, plus shipping again. JHPUSA is $2800 for the HID plus shipping. You can usually buy cheaper from an individual but good luck getting them to stand behind it if there are any problems.

Some people say its overrated and overpriced. I wouldn't say "overpriced" i'd say expensive, but worth it if you have the money to spare. If you plan on saving up forever just to do the JDM front end and everything else is bone stock, your probably wasting your money, spend more time under the hood.

However I must disagree with the "overrated" statement because imho the R looks substantially nicer with the JDM front end.

JDM front end

Just try and get in some sort of accident...insurance..etc. you get the point.

PS: I have a non HID headlights and black front bumper I am willing to sell for fair price.

I just bought the JDM front end brand new from ICBMotorsport and it cost me $3545.69 shipped. Thank god insurance is paying for it , so I figured I get the brand new one . Insurance also paid for my Vision CF mirrors, MemoryFab CF front seats, VIS CF front hood and lip, Hasport engine mount kit and OEM lower mounts, and AEM CAI. Lots more stuff too, plus installation. Damn you can't beat that........$9,700 worth in parts, labor, and paint.

Explain, please. I wanna know how you got $9700 to spend from insurance. I wrecked my front end and got $2700. You must of had something a little different happen.

EDIT: I forgot to quote the guy two posts up. Too late now.

Actually, it really wasn't that bad, but insurance didn't know how to price the parts I had on, so they asked me to get prices for them and they would add in labor/paint.......................so I gave them the most expensive prices I found on the web, then bought the parts from places I knew were cheaper. Here's the link to my accident. Car was not even close to being totaled.
