This is just a quick question. I follow drag racing like it's a 2nd job, trying to keep up with stats and times and the like. After last weekends NOPI event and more specifically Tony1's first ever win. I got to wondering. When was the last time that a Texan won a race, and just for sh*t's and giggles, was Tony1 not involved with that team at the time of their last win. My memory tells me that Kenny Tran of Jotech won a race in 2004, but he was almost handed the win when Ron Lummus was DQ'd for an illegal tire. So if that's the case I think Kenny won a race in 2003 and I think Tony1 was the crew cheif then.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it's just an interesting tidbit....

I know for sure that Tony is the first fwd street car in the 9s in texas.

 

Ari Yallon won the Sport RWD Wally at the 2005 Etown Springnationals

Julie Stepan (Subaru Sport RWD) from Texas won 2005 Denver, Vegas, Etwon Fall Nats and Pomona.

Kenny Tran (Hot Rod) won the Wally at the 2004 Etown Fall nats.

i've been following this **** for a long time , but my memory only goes back 1-2 years tops , my brain is like a wet spong its already full so to get more in i got to sqeeze the old stuff out ...LOL

And Mark, of anyone on here, you should know that I made my rep by knowing the answers to race related questions man. Albeit most of them were/are rule related, I do remember stats and stuff too. I don't fish/camp or golf, so this is my hobby.

The IFO series is nothing to take serious like NHRA or NDRA, but it's a lot of fun.

who needs camping and fishing when you can go racing right?

 

Tony wasnt on the team in 04 when kenny won the race. He won the the race cause his car was legal.
