car making a raspy, mid to high pitched rattling noise for like a second, when i hit like 1500rpm's
im guessing it has to do with the transmission area. it sounds if though there are to empty soda cans right next to each other vibrating really fast and hitting each other just for like a second this noise is heard whenever i hit somewheres around like 1400-1600rpms. i think it might have something to do with my clutch or tranny.thx for any help.
my car has done the same thing since I have takin off my exhaust and put the stock one back on with a high flow cat...I think it is the high flow cat so i'm going to put the stock one back on soon and see if that helps...maybe your experiancing somthing similar to my problem...just some idea
the problem is that i have the stock exhaust on my car so i dont think that could be it i was thinking that its like my gears grinding or clutch slipping (im not sure how a clutch slipping sounds though...i am a noob lol)
clutch doesnt make a noise when its slipping. sounds like the heatshield on the manifold or downpipe to me. check all your heatshields for vibration. check to see if it does it in a differant gear to rule out the tranny.

i had this same problem too i took out my heat shield and no more noise, you can either tighten down the bolts or take them off
so pretty much check all my heat sheilds (is that the little metal peices around my headers and exhaust, that are just pointless to be there or do they do something?) thanks everybody cause i thought it was my gears like grinding or something lol. thx again
