GSR faster than a Type R?
No, keep in mind that 0-60' times and 1/4 mile times can be dependant on driver and track. Stock for stock, the ITR is lighter and has more power so bench racing, my money would be on the ITR.

Yep, shitty *** Nitto 450's, 60ft was 2.1 and trap was like 96 or 98, I don't remember exactly. Launched at 5500, feathered the clutch and as soon as you feel the car hook up solid, push the pedal through the floor board. Remember though, this was on less than 1/4 tank of gas and I'm in FL so elevation at the track was literally like 34 ft.

itr should be faster than a gsr by like 1 sec faster if it was driven by same person
and gsr is only faster in your dreams
and damn but it all depends on how done up the gsr is . lol

Many well known members here witnessed it. GSR had an intake. It may have had an ITR header at the time but I can't recall for sure. And of course suspension work, a rollcage, etc but the only power mods were intake and maybe header/2.5" cat.
Just like some ITRs are faster than others, some GSRs are faster than others.

oh yeah oviously.. i have a friend with a gsr.. he pulls on my R on 2nd gear but i do catch him up slowly. his car is almost even with my itr. but his motor is not stock.

Yep. GSR's are quicker. Honda should have just called it quits before going and removing the sun roof, cruise control, and all that other lighter than air crap. They also screwed up big time when changing the gear ratios for acceleration. But the biggest buffoon mistake was in thinking that 25 more horsepower and a higher redline is supposed to help make the car quicker... stupid Honda.

This is the information I found. Slightly different from that site. I don't know exactly where the info came from, but they seem decently accurate as far as stock numbers. I'm not certain. Do they seem accurate to you guys??

Having owned 3 x JDM Si-VTEC (same as US GSR) and now an ITR, all were near stock when i bought them, i can testify that none of the Si-VTECs would even had a look in after 2nd gear..in 1st theres not a whle lot in it...after that forget about it.
I have a 99 stock gsr and to answer your question a stock gsr can never be faster than a stock type r. Don't believe what people say like it depends on the driver becasue that's a j/k. I have raced a type r before and its light years faster than a gsr. Sometimes i regret i got a gsr. Oh well i guess i still have the potential to get a type r motor.

Magazine tests show a huge difference in the acceleration times for the 1997 introductory USDM models and the 2000 and 2001 end of model cars.
All I can think of is that nobody knew how to drive it in 1997. No idea.
