Default Good price for s2k ?

Went to local dealer with my sister today for service on her 2003 accord was looking around and ran into our family friend who has been a salesman there for many years they had a 2006 s2k white with blk leather interior. He said he can do the deal for 30k out the door... Was wondering if i should jump on this car and buy it. Ive had so many cars over the yrs and always wanted a s2k and now think this might be a deal i must take.. Just wanted some feedback on what people have been buying for 06 s2k,,,, thanks

The paper that they show you with invoice numbers is not true invoice typically. Why? Its a bargaining tool used by all dealerships. Why would anyone in their right mind show you their real cost? You would understand this if you owned a business.

Think about this... If invoice was true dealer cost, why are dealers selling cars at or under this? It makes no sense since they would be losing money, on top they have to pay the saleman or woman, so losing even more. No business does this (always exceptions) but dealerships would go bankrupt pretty quick if thats what they did all the time.

I have bought 5 honda's in the past 4 yrs, all brand new. All were bought at the same dealership. I bought 2 of them for under invoice OTD and you know what, the dealership still made money! What does this tell you? That invoice price they show you isn't what it is.

Alot of good points made here. I have heard though, that some dealerships are willing to sell their cars at their cost because if they can move an X amount of cars per month, the manufacturer will offer some sort of bonus for the dealership. In addition, while they sell you the car at "invoice" there are "hidden" areas that the dealership is making money. $200 dollar pin-stripe, $300 dollar mud-flaps, $100 dollar wheel locks, or how about the special $900 dollar teflon coating? The dealership also makes a butt load cause most customers take their cars back in for servicing. So the dealership doesn't have to depend on selling cars to make money.

This I know, there are tons of small fee's, kickbacks, bonuses, etc.. that dealerships get. I am just stating that no dealerships sells a car in which they lose money. The only time I have seen it when they screw up or they have an older model sitting for a long long time.
