Default Rules/Regs: "No Engine Swaps"

This is pretty much for any of the sanctioning bodies staff that frequent/read this forum.

With my new project at hand I want to get some stuff cleared up before I go any further. I fully understand "no engine swap" regulations, but how does that translate to your cylinder head?

I have 4 factory cylinder head options. All of which will bolt right onto an existing engine/short block that is available for my chassis direct from the factory. If I do a head swap onto an engine code that is specified for the chassis that I have chosen to race with, will I get turned away and sent off to another class/brackets?

Thanks.

I feel the same way about the production head thing, I just really want to make sure I have everything covered before I get to far into anything at this point.

Roger, I will submit to NHRA, but I am interested in what other sanctioning bodies standard might be. The car will be for the street classes (drag radials) where most of these engine swap rules will apply... BUT I also what it it so it can compete in a pro/amature Comp 4 type of class with making only making a few changes.

Volkswagen does have factory naturally aspirated 20v engines, they just use a 144mm rod in a shorter block. I plan on staying with the ABA/AEG block, the 159mm rods will help keep the the rod ratio a bit more disirable with the crank I am going to have to use.

I just needs this nailed down, this season is on hold as we have a baby coming but still have plans to keep the engine build moving along as best as I can with everything going on.
