How to remove clear coat scratches?
I have a few minor surface scratches on my front bumper that I'm sure would disappear if I had the right tools
What do detailing shops use to do this? I could always try and buff it out (but this only hides the problem..sorta like a wax coat) ....there must be some sort of extremely fine clear coat sandpaper for this purpose?
TIA

Well, when using a buffing wheel properly with a good compound...it actually removes layers of the clear...but very little. You can always use a very high grit wet sandpaper, but I highly do not reccomend this. You will probably end up sanding too much, and chew right through the clear, and start removing paint. Just get a hold of a wheel and some good compound, or better yet, pay someone to do it for you...like a professional.
