Melted Pistons>>>>>Questions inside
I melted the outside edges of the 1 and 4 pistons this last week.
My question is i know the cylinders must have gotten really hot due to a lean condition, but could the headgasket not being sealed have aided in causing the pistons to start to melt?
The head gasket never sealed correctly and was leaking from entire front face of the block.
Thanks for your input.

its unlikely. I think that its possible youve had a lean condition for a while, possibly with some detonation, causing your leaky head and toasted pistons.
this is actually a motor that is in my boss' car. He was just looking for answers and i thought i owuld ask here.
I have not looked at the motor personally, what is the best way i can see if oil was seeping in. I asked if the motor burned oil on a weekly basis or if he noticed and he was not sure.
Are there signs that i can look for on the piston tops for this?? Thanks for all your help
