CTR parts questions
I just got my new '97 EK with a jdm B16A in it. It's got CTR cams, CTR intake manifold/throttle body, and CTR water and oil pump. Also has an LSD tranny. Anyway, sometime in the summer I think Im swapping over my c5 bottom end to make it a real Type R motor. But I have a few questions for you guys. I'd really appreciate the help. I was cruising eBay and I found a CTR crank pulley. They claim it's A LOT lighter than the stock B16 crank pulley. Is this true? If so, how much will it help with faster revving (I don't have p/s or ac at all so Im thinking why not free it up completely)? Next, how much more aggressive are the CTR cams than the stock B16A cams? VTEC in my B16 feels like it almost slows the motor down some. It engages at 5800 RPM. I think it just needs tuning with those cams. And last, when/if I put the c5 bottom end on the b16 head, can I still use the B16 p30 map or will I need the b18c5 map or what? Thanks in advance!
