help buying a prelude
I'm interested in buying a prelude, and I'm hoping I can get some good advice. A couple cars I'm considering are A) '98 with 77K miles on it, and B) 2000 with 92K miles. The owner of the '98 says it runs great. the '00 says it sometimes stalls when idling, and it's done that since he first got it, but that's the only problem.
Basically what I want to know is, will these cars be reliable for a good couple years? I like to make long driving trips (maybe 12 hour trips?). Should I expect to spend a lot on maintenance? Is it easy to sell these cars, if I want to get rid of it in a couple years, with maybe 50K more miles added to what's on it now?
Thanks a lot for all your help!

I'd say that getting a prelude is a sound investment. I'd go with the '98 with less miles especially since it has not problems. These cars are generally pretty easy to resell because of the Honda name and Honda's also hold their value better than most cars so you won't have to let it go for next to nothing. I've owned an Acura and a Honda and haven't had to do any work to either outside of basic maintenance (belts, brakes, etc.).

Since you're coming on this forum obviously concerned about maintanence (which is more than you can say for most car buyers), I think you will be very happy with a Prelude. I take long trips too sometimes, about 4 hours, and I'm always glad to be surrounded by a 94 Prelude. I'm on my second one. This is a car that I race and track too.
Hopefully you'll end up keeping your lude for more than a couple years.
