clutch install not sitting right whats the deal??

clutch install not sitting right whats the deal??
i got my clutch today an was installing it but i got a question shouldnt the presure plate sit flush with the flywheel? cuz i put the disc in and put the presure plate on and torqued down the 6 bolts to the pressure plate and theres about an 8th of an inch gap between the pressure plate and the flywheel like if the disc is too thick or something is this normal? thanx
