Has anyone installed rear replacement fenders on their eg hatch? Pain in the butt? Results, pics?

 

are you talking about the pieces to fix rust ? if so i would like to know some stuff about it too because i need to do it i have lots of rust back there

 

well you can either fill it in with bondo? Or you can cut the rusted area out find a donor car that has no rust and cut that out weld new ones in grind then paint Bondo will crack.

 

no more bondo for me.. i wanna do it the right way and be done with rust

 

I'm still looking for people that have used the replacement panel.

 

Your best bet will be to make patch panels out of sheet metal or get it off a donor car.....Make a template and mold/form the metal to desired shape.....Weld it in,grind it,get it as smooth as possible and if you do a decent job you shouldn't need to much bondo....Bondo will not crack if applied correctly and not exposed to moisture....I had to patch the rear quarters on an EF last year.....

 

No I'm looking for people that have used the frp patch panel. I'm curious about the fit and the time on the install. Anybody?
