I been haveing this problem lately and it only happens on low RPMs.
If im driving normally and I gentely accelerate and shift gears slowly then it doesnt happen but if I'm driving for example in 2nd gear at low RPM, and I push the gas down fast it starts to "blog". I dont know what to call it but, the car will just feel like it jerking, like its not getting gas or something, then when it reaches about 3,000 RPM it stops and runs normally. If I drive fast and go to high RPMs with each gear it does not happen. I have an idea that the air sensor might be messed up, but im not sure.
I have a 94 Honda Civic Coupe DX

OMG, this is the SAME EXACT EXACT EXACT problem I have, once it hits 3k it stabilizes and maybe only breaks up once or twice until the vtec crossover, right?
I'm going to go to autozone like, in the next 30 minutes and buy some new plugs/wires, I'll let you know how I make out..

get ngk's and buy oem wires!
here are some ways to feel a miss (a cylinder not firing)
!. break stand it (automatic). you will feel the hesitation's and will not run smooth.
2. from a stop, start out at low rpm's and slowly increase throttle
3. you can also feel it at wot, but sometimes will not work
4. spary water (with a spary bottle, not a water hose) on the spark wires at the head all the way to the dist. kinda hard to tell if it's arching in the plug hole sleeves though.
Theres other ways of doing this with tools, but heres a few diy
Another thing. if you have a high compression engine, like what i think the topic poster has, the coil will breakdown from overheating on high compression cruise at 2,500 and punch it. This can be normal, but if it's doing it more than once, i would be looking at the ignition system
