Default B16A swap and clutch slips unbelieveably!

Did a B16A swap into my 95 civic cx hatch. After bleeding the clutch lines, i started it up, tried to drive it. Put it in first, let the clutch out, the engine revs as if i was driving in first gear, but the car moves incredibly slowly. The clutch was barely grabbing anything. Shift into second, engine revs, car still crawling. We bled the clutch correctly, and the master and slave cylinders worked fine driving the CX home from Rochester to Albany before the swap. Any ideas?

Did you replace the clutch when you did the swap?

sounds like a fried clutch. replace it is your only option. Its not the first time I have seen a JDM motor come in with a bad clutch. Talk to the company where you bought the motor and see if they will help you out. We recently swapped a B18C into a friends EF, its clutch was fried. The company did help a bit. Every company would be different though.

I didn't replace the clutch, no. And the company was Jazz Pro Parts, and they're customer service was the worst. They never sent me my swap axles I ordered, even after I called them numerous times, and sent many emails. They kept telling me to wait and wait and after 6 months still no axles, so I gave up, and bought them off of eBay. Anyways, back to replacing the clutch, I can get an OEM-type from AdvanceAuto Parts, or should I go aftermarket? Also, I've never replaced a clutch before. So am I looking at just the clutch disc, or the pressure plate and bearings as well. I'm hoping I can do this without removing the engine?

shitty deal about the poor service. I would personaly recommend upgrading to a better then stock. I once put a oem replacement from Napa and it sucked. Ending up replacing that clutch again after the first track night because it was slipping so bad. I used an Exedy stage 1, its been great.
Buy a new clutch disc, pressure plate, and bearing. no point in doing the same job 2 or 3 times. I know with Exedy, it comes with all of that.
