I have a 2001 base model prelude with 42,000 miles. Im bringing my car for a "major maintenance service". my question is..is it necessary to get the fuel injectors cleaned? The guy at the shop told me that they "require it" to get cleaned. what do u guys think? thanks in advance

 

i just clean mine with chevron fuel system cleaner. i don't think you need to worry about it.

 

does that fuel system cleaner stuff even work?????? is it jus a big gimmick

 

is one brand better than the other? any recommendations?

 

I run the injector/fuel system cleaner and it seems to keep things from clogging.. I was told to run it with less gas than the bottle recommended and run the engine up to WOT to help clear out the injectors. I dont think you need to have a shop clean your injectors unless they are really clogged and giving you problems.
