Default I pick up my car today. Tranny is finally done.

Bearings were shot and the imput shaft was about the be thrown out of the housing.

Seals were done as well.

And the 3rd and 4th forks were damaged.

Total cost (kinda upset at myself) $1,163.80 with a 12 month/ 12,000 mile warranty.

Question: Do trannies need "break in time"?

Edit: More to the story. Bought out of stupidity (had 4-2-1 CC header and cat back, + DC sports DAC intake) Didn't realize that the noise I was hearing was the tranny. Put 4000 miles on it before taking the tranny in.......car's total milage was 100,005.

Don't feel too bad. When I installed my Quaife i put the input shaft end bearing on BACKWARDS! causing all sorts of damage to the bearings and synchros at the end of the case. Live and learn. At least i was able to fix it myself so i didn't get raped for the labor.

I thought about the used tranny but, I want to know what condition the insides are in.

So, I choose to rebuild instead of swapping. Heard too many stories about the swapped tranny that won't stay in gear.
