Default h22 Accord track times

So I went to the track a few weeks ago and just now thought about posting

Track wasnt prepped and I couldnt go around the water box

90 Accord coupe DX
jdm h22/f22 tranny
i/h/e
Severe header leak and 60 series all season tires
I didnt have a tire gauge and really was just to lazy to mess with the pressure

Im going to cut few holes in the rear bumper to see if I can gain a few mph

I know the 60 is horrible I tried everything though track just wouldnt stick

r/t .537
60' 2.420
330 6.567
1/8 9.934

mph 73.69

1000 12.823

1/4 15.244@ 93mph

Im going to invest in some dr's

Car is damn near 3000 lbs with me in it Damn right its heavy.

I know by my trap speed I should be running at least a 14.8 with a decent 60.

I think its time for a chassis swap. But like always money is the only factor stopping me.

you will see a dramatic improvement with your times if you have the m2b4 tranny and slicks. what is your suspension setup? that also has a lot to do with times.

I know i need the shorter geared tranny but this car is just for fun and I dont want to dropp that kind loot on a tranny right now. I have some no name blue lowering springs (they came on the car) maybe 1.5 " drop not much. with tokico blues in front and looks to be cheap oem replacements on the back. Im also running a 60 series tire which I know is only hurting me more with the long *** gears in that tranny. I thought about getting a h23 tranny since they are like half what I can find a m2b4 tranny for. Not sure if it would help all that much though

h23 tranny is close to the m2b4, it will be alot better than the pos f22 tranny.

my old 94 auto 4dr weighed 2960 with me in it

no name \ blue srpings (tokico maybe?) very mild drop no more than 1.5 with tokico blues in front and oem style in rear. I know slicks and that tranny will help tons.

Actually I think you did fairly well on your run. Not many people run Accords at the drag strip, due to weight issues. Believe me... I know a little about racing this type of car. My opinion is don't waste time on drag radials, get a set of slicks instead. Sure you will have to change them at the track, but the E.T.'s will be much better.

If you change to A m2a4 or m2b4 (lsd) trans, you will have even more fun. IMO, adding the circuitworx 4.7 final to a m2a4 trans works really well. Suspension is also key to launching this car... that will take some work. I offer a cb7 traction bar that we make, that makes the car very manageable off the line. I pull low 1.7 60ft times on 24" slicks. I am making a bit more power now, so I changed to a 26" slick size and am expecting 1.6 60ft times this weekend. I am not posting this to brag, but to offer hope that improvements can be made to your set-up.

Hell yeah they are heavy... I raced at NOPI last weekend in the Comp 4 class. All the cars were under or around 2000 lbs with driver. My car weighed in at 2550 with me in it. I make similliar power to the lighter cars running high 11's but run only high 12's due to the weight difference.

Every car was under weight for Comp 4 NDRA. Not complaining, but the NDRA needs to enforce the rules if they are going to make them.

In my full interior 90 accord I ran 14.7 all day long pullin 2.2 60s & then the guy I sold it too pulled out some interior, got some suspension & tires & ran 14 flat all day long with low 2.1 60s. It was a jdm h22, flywheel, clutch, intake & exhaust. I believe thats all. It was a 4 door.

The previous owner went 14.7@94 with a 2.1 60 (got the slip right in front of me )but he was on dr's I lost a 1 mph but i think its because im running a tall *** 60 series tire? Think thats possible?

More than likely. Throw some better tires up front, hell I didn't even have very much tread left on my tires & I still pulled 2.2s. High 2.2s but still. After the new owner did the suspension & tires, he pulled low 2.1s. How he gained .7 from that & some weight reduction i'm not exactly sure but good for him. That car was a freak though. You should atleast expect 14.7-14.9 out of your car. Just by knockin your 60 down to a 2.2. So just snag some better tires for up front & practice launching.
