Default Quick clutch question

I have a 98 accord lx with 120k on it. The car was being driven on the highway and the gear just disengaged. The Clutch does not engage in any gear, even with the front of the car off the ground there is still no movement. The tranny will shift into all the gears with no effort at all and without pushing in the clutch pedal while the car is running. I am wondering if it is just the clutch needing to be replaced or if its could be the master cylinder. The pedal feels as if there is pressure in it and that its constant. When i first start the car i hear a rattling sound but it stops imediately after starting. The service engine light its on as well. Could it be a broken pressure plate? Any info would be appreciated.

You may have blown an axle &/or CV Joint.
Jack the front of the car and put it in gear; look carefully at each axle - if you see one rotating without it's associated wheel turning / you've got a broken axle

It could ultimately be associated with a clutch issue, but even with an outright failure; the clutch should still drag it along.

You could also have a failure involving a damaged differential final drive (and subsequently the operation of the vehicle speed sensor (which drives off the final drive ring gear).

If you find a DTC Code of P0500 thru P0503, they indicate a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) issue (and add suspicion to the final drive debate)
