Default supercharger vs turbo

now ive talked to a few people about advantages of both. the supercharger pushes FRESH CLEAN air into your engine but robs power when running off the pullies. The turbo pushes DIRTY air into your engine but runs with just air and no pulleys. does anyone have or know anyone that has either off these applications and what you think....i also hear that its hard as hell to fit the turbo into the 5th gen. ludes......

huh?

anyway there is a forced induction forum on this site, and an "official turbo prelude" thread in the prelude forum that you can search for.

read through both first, welcome to H-T

It's not dirty air guy. A turbo is powered by your exhaust, but it pressurizes clean air drawn from your intake. Some people like superchargers better because there is no turbo lag. Its all personal preference. IMO the sweet sound of a BOV makes up for any lag.

I'd rather have a supercharger, but I'd want a centrifugal one. No roots type blower for me

just as silver said, get the pipe attachment and throw a K&N filter, just like you would on a CAI or SRI, and it's as good as clean lol

the h22 is a good motor...if your looking for a good amount of power with reliability then go with the SC but if this is just a project car go turbo...
