Default bone stock b18c1 oil recommendations

I've been using Castrol GTX 5w30 since i bought my car.

2001 Integra GSR, bone stock block, 330whp/246wtq on high boost.

I have not run into anyt problems with the Castrol, I'm just open to some advice. I'm a firm believer in "if it ain't broke don't fix it", but would just some clarification why a lot of turbo honda owners tend to jump to 10w30. I do not experience any oil loss, compression tests yield great results....I just wan't to extend the motor's life any way I can.

All input is appreciated

i use 5w40 during winter, 15w50 or 20w50 during summer and a mix of 5w40 and 20w50 in between. synthetic only and never energy concerving oils.. check bobistheoilguy.com . 10w30 doesn't offer more protection and in some brands thinner than 5w30.

Go with the "If it ain't broke don't fix it."

well...i'm going to have to go back out what I said last night.

went out to the car this morning, checked the oil before going to work, and was a little low. seems there was some burning over the past weekend, I was driving the car pretty hard. now...would it be beneficial to go with Castrol GTX 10w30? Should I stay with the 5w30?

I'm in NJ....spring is just around the corner...shouldn't see any actual cold temperatures for awhile.

i have a sc61 on my b18c1 13psi and i used to run gtx 5w30 but i noticed oil pressure dropping pretty low when i get her nice and hot after about 3 - 4 runs (10 psi idle, 65 wot) and it seemed like it was burning up the oil in the turbo.

i went up to 10w30 and it was the same. tried mobil1 15w50 and the oil pressure was above 15psi at idle and 70+ wot. it also didnt turn black as a struck match after 20 miles i went to gtx 10w40 and that seems to keep me happy.
