wheels and tires...
I have decided to buy the enkei j10 wheels, but i am keeping my tires as i just got them changed. the tires i have now a p195-65 r15 87t ..the wheels i want to buy are 15x6.5 but the recommended tires 185-65 r15 88t , does this matter. and also i looked in the Honda accord manual and it said the the wheels on my car are 15x5.5 i don't think this is correct but i was wondering if you guys could verify this for me. oh and also just wanted to make sure if i bought just the wheels i could use the tires i already have (p195-65 r15 87t)
thanks for the help in advance
oh and i forgot the car is a 1997 honda accord ex

If I could make a better suggestion, its that you upgrade yourself to a pair of 17" wheels and get a tire size like 205/50/17 with a nice pair of summer performance tires for improved handling, grip, and if you got a pair of Yokohama ES100 (which is what i run on my car) if you didnt push them hard could get 25k miles out of. I'd also suggest you look in the wheel +tire forum and talk to nsxstasy or old man neri, they know their stuff.
But in either case, 15x6.5 should fit the tire size you are talking about, but it might stretch it a little bit.
to figure out tire size.
Tread width(ie 185/205) * aspect ratio (ie 65/50) * 2/2540 + tire width (ie 15/17)
anything smaller than 1 percent of stock and 2 percent larger than stock is pushing the limit on speedo problems.

well, look up the mfr's website and then the tire size, it will tell you the range of rim widths that can be used. if they don't have one, try another mfr website. given that it fits the new wider rim, you will need to make sure you get the correct rim OFFSET or it will stick in or out too much! it's an inch wider overall so that's one-half inch on either side of the rim if you stick with the same offset as the old wheel. i don't know of 5th gens, but you'll probably want an offset in the low 40s.

205-45-17 or 215-45-17 would be more ideal for a 5th gen (w/o considering other rims sizes), because the overall diameter of the tires would be closer to the stock tire size.
