Default H23 head on a H22 block?

Ok I attempted a search on this issue but wasnt sure hpw to word it to get the matchs I wanted. Anyhow will a 93 h23 head fit a 00 H22 block? If it does what issues would I have with tuning the head to work with the smaller sized engine block? Or will there be any issues? The H22 is a 2.2l and the H23 is a 2.3L.... THis will probably turn into a slow step by step vtec H22a buildup..... Just low on funds and cant afford the entire swap all at once and there is a good deal on a block close to home.... wuld pick it up if my head will fit it for the time being while I save up for the rest...

Thats talkin about using a H23 block buildup tho, I wanna know if the head off of a h23 will fit a h22.... Or did I missread? Odd request I know, What are the advantaged of a h23vtec over a H22? Is it just power to tourqe ratios?

H23head gasket. Also you going to have to use all the H23 timing stuff ( camgears, crankgear, waterpump, timing belt, ect, ect

Will there be any odd tuning issues or will it be a direct part swap put her in and she will fire and run the way she should? Then when I go get the H22 head i'd aveta go all out and get all H22 parts....

I would switch over the tensioner setup off the H23. Yes it has 2 belts 1 timing belt 1 balancer belt.

You have to use the H23 intake and exhaust manifolds, the H22 manfolds wont work.

I always laugh at this setup... It honestly isnt worth the time and effort.. Just stick with your bottom end and find an h22 head in the meantime.. With all the changing over you have to do, there no point... the head has 53.8cc combustion chamber... the h22 has the same and vtec... Where will the gains come from aside from slightly higher compression(9.8:1 to 10.0:1)? Just wait it out boss...

The only benefits of this swap are keeping the exhaust manifold fitment...

At least throw the h23 crank and rods in and use the vtec pistons so when you do get an h23 head youll be h23 vtec ready
