Default High Idle

Well idling very high on my 99 GSR into my 97 Civic with 99 SI ECU and the vacuums open to my knowledge are the one above the intake on the TB and the PS hoses and the black box i believe its called EGR Valve or something only for the reason that I dont know where those hoses come or go to...any ideas?? Someone please help me, my car is eating itself alive with this high idle and the clutch can be smelt especially reversing and taking off in 1st. Atleast were I can I plug up these vacuums so the idle might get adjusted and dont know how to turn the screw on the TB to adjust idle any insight?

Ok so things as goes are that I put my hand over the TB to see if the engine was running off any vacuum hoses and amazingly the car started suckin my hand for about a second and it died. Also the TPS sensor on the car was from my D series.

are for sure that its a vacuum leak causing it to idle high and did this problem just come out of the blue or did you do a swap and could not fixx the idle

well I did the swap and it was idling damn near redline which was the TB sticking...fixed that idle was still high and it was a vacuum leak and then now its not that high but high enough that the car wil move on its own and theres no vacuum leaks since the car dies once i place my hand over the TB and turn out that I cant find the screw on the TB like it is blank and nothing is there since its JDM

I came up to think that since I cant adjust this damn screw im going to try to correctly adjust the TPS sensor tommorow at Penn Auto with their voltage thing since maybe the I didnt adjust it correctly when placing it from my D series. Anyone any insight on this Idle Screw on a JDM engine?

Make sure you don't have the tps and iacv plugs reversed. they are the same type.

idle should be about 900, SI ecu is made for an engine that has no secondaries in the intake manifold, don't know if it makes a difference, I would try plugging in an obd2 gsr ecu.

The black box is PCV and needs to be connected to the intake manifold at the top. You need a PCV valve in between plug all open vaccum sources and try to start it up. See what happens. If the car runs fine there you go, if not try the GSR ecu.

Do you have any cels? Check you map sensor, and your exhaust o2 sensor. They both carry current back to your ecu and if either one of are bad it can go back to your ecu. Also check your TPS sensor. Try those.

Yeah I have cels and I have tried to finding it by connecting to the computer at Autozone and Penn Auto but no luck linking. Guess its the problem with using an Si ECU in a 97 Civic EX

You are using an OBD2b-OBD2a convesion harness, right?

Well, that might be the problem then. You can't use a 99 Si ECU in an OBD2a chassis without a conversion harness. Yes, it might physically plug in but not all of the wires match up.

I see....now which conversion harness do I need if the engine is OBD2B and the ECU is OBD2B and the car is OBD2A?

It's the wire harness you need to be concerned about. You have a OBD2b ECU. You have a OBD2a wire harness. You need an OBD2b-to-OBD2a conversion harness.

Now as harness you mean by the wiring of the car or the harness of the engine?
