Default Question lsvtec

i just have a question about lsvtec i have a lsvtec in my car i used a b18b block and a b16 head all stock internals. i through no code but knock sensor but vtec don't crack..... I have changed and replace the solinoid more than once, i leak no oil and the oil line gets pressure. The head was tap correctly and plugd it was done at a machine shop. i'm at my last wits end i just don't understand anyideas?

make sure your car is at operating temperature.if not fix the knoxck sensor code maybe?

i know alot of gsrs and b16 that run with the knock code throwing and they crack vtec and my car is warmed up when i try

How are you sending oil to your head?I know my friend put a new ground kit on his and it pops harder so maybe your grounds are just ..........bad?Um call up bubba at do it dyno.I can get his # later.hes a lot of help

Check the oil pressure at the head, that would keep VTEC from coming on without throwing a code. There is a bolt you have to remove to attach a pressure gauge at the #4 cylinder at the end of the exhaust cam by the VTEC solenoid, beside the exhaust manifold. Some ppl use this as their turbo oil feed, so you may have seen lines running from there.


To get rid of your knock code install a knock sensor in the back of cylinder #2 where the alternator bolt is, just trim your bracket back and bore it out and re-tap. I think it's like 12 x 1.25 or 12 x 1.5......Or run a chipped P28....
