New Header Question(s)
SO i jsut finally installed my new headers, ( 91 integra ) but its hitting the oil pan and will it tear a hole in it ?? or will it be fine, what i was thinkin is to cut a peice of metal and jam it in-between the pan and the header... AHHH what do i do ??
i would just think the heat from ur header would be bad for the oil in the oil pan. piece of metal between the two will do nothing to keep the heat away. as for rubbing issues and tearing a hole, i have no clue
yeah u definately want to get that taken care of. like stated above, the heat from the header will heat the oil up. what type of header do u have? i'm not sure of the best way to fix it, but a piece of metal between the two won't cut it. bump for help from someone else.
its called Edge header... 4-2-1 2pc headers... like it barely fits for my car, i tlaked to some neigbors and they said to use plexi-glass... or something along that to take the heat off the pan
I'll get pics in like 45mins or so..
what should io do in the mean time ( as of tomorrow... put the metal peice in for tomorrow and find some plexi glass ?? )

did you get a header made for a bseries motor???
but its not going to rub and tear a hole in your oil pan since the header doesnt ever move relative to the block...if it does it will break the manifold studs off the head

So that means it doesn't fit perfectly then.
You can try using some exhuast wrap.
