Will EK shocks fit my EF?
Specifically the front stuff. I have heard EG fit with EG front forks and vice versa, wondering if the same can be said of EK shocks or if they will just fit modification free. Thanks a lot.
Your EF's front fork is a touch too small to fit the EK's shock bodies, which are slightly thicker. You will need to use EK front forks. In the rear, your EK's lower mounts will be too narrow to fit the EF's LCA, and you will need to grind down the bushings about 5mm on each side to accomodate the EK's narrow lower fork.
Ah, well, someone local is selling just EK front gr-2s that're barely used, so I'm wondering mainly about getting them now. I have also heard that the brake lines won't mount up properly if I use the EK stuff, what do you think about this?
If the shocks do not have their own mounting brackets for your lines, then you will have no place to mount the stock lines' brackets to the shock, afaik, but I am not familiar with the GR-2's. Its not a huge deal, zip ties can take care of any flopping brake lines.
Hit up the local bone yard to pick up the EK's front forks if you intend to use them.
