Post pics of your full-race fuel sump installed
I would like to see some pics of the full-race fuel sump installed and how your ran your lines and mounted your pump. Espically if you are running a weldon pump.
mine is still sitting in the box in the trunk....want a picture of that?
so far i have only mounted the pump to the carpet.

i think getting started on the sump and mounting the pump is on my list of things to do tomarrow

Pump isn't exactly mounted yet but it's not going anywhere. Sorry it isn't the weldon
I think I have more pics if you want more.
Mine is sitting the box also. Was going to work on it tommorw that is why I posted it tonight so I have a clue what I am doing tommorw.
Aluminum fuel line, 5/8". Using stock feed for return. Kind of a pitta to bend the line from front to back in one piece but for $25 for $25ft you have room to make a few mistakes.
Used tubing bender to bend the line.

Radiator shop did the install. Soldered on like a radiator end tank. They drilled the holes, acid washed the inside of the tank, soldered the sump in place and re lined the inside of the tank with some yellow looking ****.
The main reason I had them clean the tank and re line it was the tank was nasty inside and came from a car that was in a junk yard for a few years. I couldn't find the good clean tank that I had from my old si....untill after I got this one done I find out my Dad was trying to sell my original clean tank on ebay, no wonder I couldn't find it.
I have a spare tank out of a 99-00 si if anyone needs an extra to install a sump in. I might make a sump myself and see how that goes.

I need a better way to take pics as I do stuff. I hate stoping to take pics while I'm doing something important. I did it once when I ported my sti turbo but that was a pain.
Yea, I took a wire wheel to the sump area before I gave the tank to the people to do it. I would have liked to do it myself but fear of blowing myself up kept me from doing it
underpressure02 - Take some pics and let us know how it goes
B18 CYA - I don't see a sump in that pic
ha ha j/k You running a cell?

its funny you said that about blowing yourself up....my AIM away message said "welding a fuel sump, i hope i dont blow myself up" haha
a freind of mine had a local shop that suposivly does a lot of work on a lot of race cars and even some guys on here. it turned out to the point where i quesiton it being usable..... all the crap i read about people going to radiator shops at first made me second guess it...but after seing how that one turned out there was no way anybody other than myself was going to do it. its done now, it turned out perfect. i might have it pressure cleaned out on the inside or something....im happy with it

I've been a little touchy with gas tanks since the time I was at a friends shop (older guy compared to me) and he was using a plasma cutter to cut some body panels off, all was fine until the panel was gone and you could see a line on the tank from the flame of the plasma cutter. It made me kind of freeze up and think "wow....that could have been bad".
I tried taking pics of some stuff I was working on today, yea forget that, it seams like when I take pictures of the stuff I'm working on...the stuff gets all messed up.
Good to hear you didn't blow your shop up
oh and good to hear you didn't blow up either
ha ha Take some pics when you get it all buttoned up and stuff.
I didn't hear back from underpressure02 on how his sump install went...that may not be a good sign

Stan has a setup where you dont have to sump the tank. Very nice setup. I had a sumped setup before but never ran it sold it.
Anyone else have any pics? Joe did you get a chance to take some pics of your setup?
The weldon pump did not come with any brackets or anything to mount it.

nah you will have to make your own brackets for the weldon pump. i have pictures of the fuel sump install, but i have not mounted the pump yet or made any brackets for that. finishing my cage tonight, so probably do the fuel poop bracket tomarrow night.
Left mine in. Didn't want to get into that much work or pay anyone to do it.
If anyone looks at my picture...as far as mounting goes...round aluminum tubing, allthread or bolts in the middle bolted to the floor...thats what I plan to do. It might stay without even mounting it but why would I want to do that.
If I remember I'll snap a few more pics tonight...of course the car will probably somehow fall on me when i do this cuz I don't think it likes when I take pictures. **** goes downhill when I do take pics.
