Default Removal of pinstripe adhesive. Help.

So I finally got around to getting those stupid pinstripes off the side of my car. You know those cheep-o ones that people think ad a dash of charactor to their car. Well on my Prelude they looked like sh*t. Plus they were on on ONE SIDE, WTF?

Anyways, the ones on the quarter came of fine, just took the ole' blowdryer, and peeled em' off. When I went the take the ones off the door and fender, they left this secondary strip on my paint, not only that, but it is sticky, so yes you guessed it, everything from small animals to dirt gets stuck to it. I tried Miguiers, Bug and Tar remover, Orange solvent (which said it was for getting stickers of exterior paint), and even went as far as to use.... WD40 . Any ideas on what the hell I can use. There are some pictures of the carnage below.

Sticky crap:

BTW. The dash carpet went bye-bye. I used rubbing alch. to get the shiney K-Y Armorall off the dash, now there is no sun glare.

Hey bro, Goo Gone works incredible on all that stuff. We here at work use it for everything. Im pretty sure it should be safe for the clearcoat/paint. Some one please correct me if im wrong. But Goo Gone does and awsome job at removing sticky ANYTHING.

AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!

Use a hair dryer or a heat gun to heat up the glue behind the stripe. Don't let the heat concentrate on one spot for too long, so make sure you're moving along as well. Once you get the stripe off, GooGone works pretty well.

Thanks man, but I beat ya to it . Like I said the part on the quarter panel came off fine. But the door and fender gave me greif. I heated the tail till it lifted, and then followed the dryer down the door slowly as to not mess up the paint. However it left that gray, sticky tape that you see in the pictures. I'll get that Goo-Gone stuff . Can you find it at Target? Cause I'll be at the mall tonight I'll have'ta look. Or is it only at places like Rice-o-zone and Kragen?

I had a stuborn sticker on my front bumper that woudn't come off. My friend, who is an excellent detailer, recommended using WD-40 and paper towel. After 20 minutes, the sticker goo was gone.

After I got all the goo off I washed the bumper with dishwashing soap, then I waxed 2 times.

I am about to pull my pin stripe off as well...So basically I just take a blow dryer and heat up the glue and start peeling off the stripe? Do I just pick it off with my finger? Or what did you use?

Don't heat it too much. I just heated the end and used my finger nail to start it then blew on it with the dryer as I slowly pulled it off the car. Don't use to much heat or you'll start yourself back @ sq. 1. Don't pull to hard or you can snap it and have to start over as well. Plus you can risk taking paint with the strip. Ant, did you get your ride from a used car dealer. So dealerships put those dumb stripes on all of thier cars.

I got some of the goo-gone. I'll try it in the morning.

Ah yes... those. Well it was no peice of cake that's for sure. I had to drape cloths down the side of the car and drench them in the crap (goo gone) just to get it to "soak" in the the adhesive. Then with shreds of an old polo (need the rougher fabric) and lots of thumbgrease I got it off. Took about an hour.

looks **** now. Such a change.
