Which 92-95 civic projector headlights use the stock H4 bulb?
Topic pretty much says it says it all...
Which 92-95 civic projector headlights use the stock H4 bulb?
The reason I'm asking is I want to retro-fit the Projector part into a motorcycle headlight and still be able to have high/low beams.

Sure. Break out the Dremmil.

projectosrs only use a single filiment bulb because of the design of he projector.
turning on an additional filiment in the projector would only make the projector itself brighter and hotter. It will not cause a true high beam pattern unless you move the sheild.
high/low beams in a projector design requires a movable sheild design like bi-zenon HIDs use.

h4 aka 9003 has it's shield built right in the bulb if you look carefully. it can be retro into any projector but the beam pattern, cut off line, light output will all be thrown off. if you want to still have high and low beam on a projector go with bi-xenon. i forgot all the projectors that come with bi-xenon but off my head i know e46 projectors off bmw will have bi-xenon. check others like valeo, bosch.

So it is possible to use an H4 bulb on a normal beam, but when using high beam the light could damage the projector?
THANKS</TD></TR></TABLE>
like lv6l said. the H4 bulb can be used if you really want to modify things to fit, but it will not work as well as a non-internally shielded bulb due to the projector’s shield.
(note the shield creates the cut off line)
Switching to the high beam on the H4 will simply bypass the built in shield from the H4, but the shield from the projector will still create the cut off line.
either do two projectors (one for low and one with the shield removed for high beam) or use a bi-xenon type projector to get high beams.
Logically you could remove the projectors shield and try using the H4's shield to create the cut off line, but the cut off would be poor at best and you will be blinding on-coming traffic all the time.
