Will a CEL for knock sensor throw ur car n limp mode?

I was just wondering cause I have a CEL for knock and my idle goes up n dn for about 30secs to a min before returning to idle?

Limp mode is generally defined as when the ecu or chip is dead and the ecu is using some other backup program which generally idles around 2k and has a 3k redline.

knock sensor CEL is on, replace ecu replace knock sensor and the CEL is still lighted up!!!!!!!!!!!!
