Default Can I convert a Auto GSR ECU for Manual Tranny use?

Hello all, I am picking up a JDM auto GSR swap and I will be getting the ECU with it obviously and I was wondering if there is any way that I can modify the auto ECU to use in my car which is manual? I have seen a few write ups on modding a auto ecu and it involves removing a resistor and resoldering it to a new location on the board....I am just not sure if the resistor location is going to be the same from ecu to ecu (I could not find info on a auto GSR ecu).

Thanks in advance for any info
