so i got a 91 teg 2dr, changing the headers on it, and the bolts connected to the down pipe and the cata converter are welded, and i tried basically everything to get them off... saw, hammer, tried unbolting (lol) just wont budge and its the LAST BOLT i need to replace the header


any one got any ideas ??

cut it off, shouldnt be that hard

 

sawzall or grinder with metal cutting wheel.

 

I had the same problem on my 93 Teg I ended up grinding the nut off and then I noticed the Bolts were pressed in and welded I ended up drilling out everything and just using bolts now

 

used a blow torch to heat the rusted bolts. Came off easily afterwards.

 

ok so ..

I got the new headers on... BUT

it rubs againist the oil pan, do u think it will tear a hole in it ?? or should I put a thin peice of metal in-between it so it wont heat it up ??


and it makes like a ricey sound now, around 1-3K rpms, but after that a deep sound...
