Type SH is cool, but the base model is a little faster. As long as you get a 5spd and not a slow *** automatic...

The funny thing is that 4G VTECs are faster than both of them. Come down to Madison if you want proof. Mattmw88 and I will be happy to give you a test ride.

True, but only by a little bit. If its stock vs. stock, it really comes down to the driver...

Yep, I'm just putting back beers with Bucky.
After I chased a 5G down from over a car length deficit to win a 1/4 mile race(I burned the tires on the launch) I lost some respect for 5Gs.

hmm, if you think a nearly stock sh pulls hard.

you'll be wetting your pants once you get your b20/vtec.

Alot of it depends on the particular car too - VeeTec just had a mad-fast car (93) - also if the owner trashes the stock intake for a hot-air intake, they've just slowed the car down - most G4s that I ran into w/ my 97 didn't show me much - of course I didn't exactly kill them either.

here's a challenge, can someone make a post about a 5th gen without all you 4th gen people opening your mouths about, "oh but a 4th gen is so much faster". or even you 5th gen base people. can you go one thread about a 5th gen type sh without saying, "the base is that much faster than the SH". it happens everytime. and it has nothing to do with the original post. this guy's just tryin to compliment us, in general, but you guys have to say something. it just happens that he was ridin in the type sh. just say thanks, preludes rule, 4th gen, 5th gens and type SH's.

4th Gen
5th Gen

The H22A is an awesome motor, but it sucks in that Heavy *** Body.
Try driving a GS-R or a Type-R. You'll love the way it feels when you take it all the way to 8400rpms.

Why would the sh be more than 100 lbs different. Isn't the difference all in the tranny? And I guess the spoiler too.

Weights

4th gen vtec 2932
5th gen base 2954
5th gen sh 3042

BTW isn't a prelude faster than a gsr?? Less weight doesn't help that much with equally less power.

I always thought that the 4gen vtec would be much lighter then a mere 22lbs from the 5 gen base.

the added weight is due to the ATTS unit, not the tranny. the ATTS warning lamp also adds 30lb.
