What e/h to run with a supercharged ep3?
I finally decided to get a JRSC-R for the ep3. My wife wont let me buy everything like the SC kit, air box, e/h, etc all at once, so I want to start with the exhaust and header. I had thought about the rsx-s header and cat with the Fujitsubo exhaust. I had some folks say that the rsx-s header may not have much more flow than the ep3 header. This is a DD so I am not sure if I want to put up with a race header or have to worry about cel's and using sims and all that fun.
I guess I am looking for the best flow with the least amount of noise and with a cat of some kind.
Thanks for any feedback.

if ur worried about loudness, u should get an hks hi power cat back. i have that on my ep3 and its not that loud, more of a deep tone. that was with my shorty header and stock cat. but now i have a race header and the loudness is still not all exaggerated. u can still get by cops no problem
hope that helps somewhat

If you want the best gain for minimum prices, DC Race header, Stock type s 05 midpipe, keep rear axleback.
If you are worried about emissions; Comptech Shorty Type S header, Type s downpipe, CTR specific exhaust; fujitsubo legalis R($800-850 just for exhaust..)
Intake.. AEM CAI , Type S specific.

I'd go along with what civicvtec1ps recommended. You almost certainly won't get quieter than the stock axleback, and it still flows plenty well.
You can run a race header, get some noise, but program out the CEL and/or use defoulers to fool the O2 sensors.

So this would this have a cat involved between the downpipe and the exhaust?
If i run a cat will it negate any extra power from any kind of header? I will trade a few hp to avoid cels and really bad fumes. Would a short header, hi-flow cat & good exhaust give decent gain with the sc?

Shorty header, high flow cat, good exhaust is your best bet if your worried about fumes/emissions. Not as good as a race header but still gives good gains compared to stock.

this is a similar set-up i'm running with my JRSC street. only that i'm using a shorty plus a test pipe. i have had a lot of my local ep3 friends say, it definitely pulls harder than another local ep3'r we have running the race kit on cat.

It's 2.5", don't know if there's any constrictions like what's been rumored for the Powergetter, and the tip is something like 3 or 3.5".. .not big at all. Fujitsubo's dyno charts list the RM-01A as having better gains than either the PG or the Legalis-R, believe it or not.
I have a cat, so I can't say what it would sound like with a race header. It's quiet, especially outside the car (it's louder inside than stock, but not nearly as loud as other exhausts). It's that real mellow "well-tuned" sound that doesn't seem to attract attention at all. But if you know what the EP3/DC5 normally sounds like, you'd think that something's been done.
It's a lot smoother sound than anyone would ever expect from an N1-shaped exhaust canister.
Search in the archived threads; I've got an install writeup with a so-so sound clip. Fujitsubo has nice, accurate sound clips at fujitsubo.co.jp .
