High Idle, Code 20 : ELD, With a twist ...
Heya folks,
I have managed to narrow my problems down to a code 20 being thrown (ELD). However, my first question is should the MIL light be on with this code because it is not. I only find this code when I jump the two service connector wires together.
Either way my symptoms are a high idle (1,200rpm) and this code.
Anyone else had these problems or care to mention as to whether this code should manifest itself in the form of a MIL light ?
I'm confused ... but getting there
Oh by the by my setup is a JDM B18C running OBD2B > OBD2A conversion harness and a JDM P73.
Thanks folks, you'd be saving my bacon here,

ELD does not trip a check engine light.
the high idle can be caused by the ELD because it thinks you need more rpms to provide additional charging capability.
this may take a while to solve, you need to check the pinouts to the ELD, then if the ELD is the same as the one that is supposed to go with the swap.
or maybe the ELD is really defective. use the helms and run through the ELD troubleshooting tree.

My ELD threw a code when it was detected to be malfunctioning. turns out it was the white alternator wire arching onto the strut tower. I would check charging voltage and possibly a resistance test. Idk, just wanted to tell you that I had a cel/mil specifically for the eld. btw, I'm running an OBDII P75.
Thanks guys, thats gives me something to think over tomorrow morning. It makes sense that something is arc'ing somewhere as this has only recently become a problem. I didnt know it was a problem however as I had no CEL.
Interesting stuff, I shall be sure to post here with whatever happens.
Thanks again,

Just realised something ...
My car is UKDM spec car. Does this mean it does not have an ELD fitted ? I checked under the fuse box and could find no 3 pin lead. Im confused, any ideas folks ?
Also what is the ELD expecting to see in terms of voltage ? I know it wants more than 4.5 so I am assuming it wants around 12v but I have no idea what ampage.
Hmmm. Still doesnt explain why the idle is so high mind you. Any ideas folks ?
