Need help ASAP! Clutch pedal is broken
Yup thats right, my clutch pedal is broken now, not the cable, the actual pedal. i know i might have adjusted the clutch too tight but anyway, it broke off right at the weld where the bar connects the clutch pedal to the bracket.. i just wanna know if anyone ever swapped out a pedal assembly from an ef/ed before? i need any kind of directions on what to do or maybe a writeup? i found a hatch at the junkyard that i could grab it from, but i dont know what to do to take it off. please someone help, im waiting to sell this car but i need it fixed asap! thanks for any help you guys
If it broke off at the on the pedal cluster, ten I would remove the cluster and take it to a good welder and have it welded. The say that welds anr stronger then the metal itself. Any cluster from the same car would work
im in the midst of swapping my pedal assembly as well. Be nice to yourself, drop the steering column when swapping them in and out. Oh yeah, you can use the assembly from any EF. Weld it up before you replace it. This is my CRX's third pedal assembly. Rumor has it that the Si one is stronger (don't know for sure). Have fun on your back for a little while.
guess what? i went and bought an si pedal assembly, and its the only one that doesnt fit, got it from a junkyard so i basically threw away $100. i just welded the old assy ill throw it in tomorrow but thanks for the help guys, oh and ef hatchie, my car is the one youre thinking about buying..

yo my friend is haveing the same problem with his EE wagon we tryed to get it welded but the guy just made it worse. anyway do you know how far up the bracket goes? or maybe an easyer way to get to the screws?
i used a long *** extension with a 12mm swivel socket on a 3/8 drive to get to the nuts on the pedal bracket. total of 6 nuts
There was a thread about this a few months ago. You can make the Si pedals fit, and they are actually better. They are beefier and less likely to break. The thread had pics of Si and other pedals side by side for comparison. I think there was a difference in the spring on the clutch pedal as well.
yea but the thing was, on my ol dpedal assy there was a bracket connected to a switch that is used to turn the car on, the si assy didnt have this, also it was spot welded on my old assy so there was no way i could have swapped it over... i was stuck just welding my old assy back together 2wice as strong as it was b4..

$100 for a pedal assembly? no way. Either I have really cheap junkyards, or you just got ripped off.
Can't you return the assembly?

My broke pedal, i think it was because my cheap kragen cable was so hard. Replacing it was a bitch. Drop the steering column, take out the front seat, move the the air/heat piping out of your way, get on your back and take those 6 bolts out. Some can be tough to get to, use a swivel, could make it easier.
