I just recently bought a 98 civic hatchback. and i just wanna know whats the biggest vtec i can fit in it as well as the best to buy one.

Ok without MAJOR fabrication, the K24 is the largest motor you can fit in an EK.

 

D15B, end of story. there is a FAQ where u can look for possible swaps that are sticky'd at the top of the forums. maybe use it to find out more.

i seen a v6 in a 4 dr civic. 3.2 turbocharged rear wheel drive. it was a for sale post, but then again it coulda been fake. go with the k24 with a k20 head

 

So does anyone know a link to a couple sites to get this?

 

you can just stick with the k20a2 and still fly your way past V8's man...haha...though i just talked to a guy who did the k24 setup with his Ej1..and he took V8's all day...

 

hit up steve at hmotorsonline.com , he always hooks me up... and on his website i think he has a k20A2 complete changeover for 4000... very good deal IMO

Poorly driven LS1 cars are in the low-14 range. Well driven LS1 cars are in the low-13 range. Well driven LS1 cars with lid/longtubes/full exhaust are in the mid-12's. Well driven LS1 cars on the juice are easy 11's.

A well driven K24 (TSX, not Accord/Element/CRV) EG can do mid-13's pretty consistantly on street tires, snap some bolt-on's in there and you can see 12's. From a roll they're much more devastating, but it's hard to get out of the hole with that much torque in a front-drive car.

Then again, you haven't told us what your plans are for this car, so I can only assume that you're a simple ricer who wants to street race Dodge Dakota RTs and that kid with the GT Mustang who picks on you at school.

The h22 is in a much lower league than the k series, especially the k24's. The transmission is a pile of ****, it's pretty damned heavy, and doesn't respond to bolt-ons nearly as well as the k series engines do.

K24 Hands Down

 

k24 is probably the most REALISTIC way to get big displacement. however a 2.3liter b18 is my personal favorite. and about the same price as a k20

agree with what you say but the prelude lover in me will die hard

 

K24 straight up. Just out of curiosity does anyone know what kind of mpg you get with that swap? Since you are fairly daily drivable with that engine until you do some major modifications.

prob slightly better numbers than a tsx, but it also depends on the trans, once again i havent heard about $$ so i assume he will have the 6 speed, and i have no idea what the ratios are on those gears

try H22 or a b20 vtec
less modification and work than a k20 or k24

 

do you guys even kno if he has the money for a swap??? he's probaly a noobie. how come he hasnt got flammed, everyone is probaly drunk haha.
