H22 Head Question about Detonation
I've got the chance to get an H22a head for practically nothing. The only thing wrong with the head is that there is some slight detonation marks on one of the cylinders. Is it really a big deal? What would I have to have done to fix the marks? Here's a few pics of the bottom of the head ... let me know what you guys think. TIA

there's a reason it's going to cost you practically nothing...it's fcuked, that's why.
you could grind off the top of that combustion chamber, but then that once cylinder will have slightly lower compression than the rest. You can buy used H22 heads on fleabay for under $300...buy one of those

whats next to nothing? $50? what all comes with it? it looks like you'll have to get a new set of valves, i'd just get a ss set. a cylinder head repair shop can fix that...let me see if i still have pics of my head when it was fucked...

Maybe it's my laptop... but that doesn't look like detonation. That looks like something got into the combustion chamber and all hell broke loose from there.
