What's the best 5speed Tranny fluid?
I need to find some good manuel tranny fluid for my 5th gen that will prevent gear grinding. What is the best I could buy. Some times my 3rd and 5th gear grind when going fast, i'm thinking my transmition needs to slow down inbetween shifting in order to catch the next gear.??
Get the syncromesh at the GM dealership. My point is that your tranny won't heal itself over time. If anything, it will get worse as time goes on. Not trying to scare you.
SMSP has tranny rebuild kits.

Just an option.

GM Sync won't fix the problem. If your synchros are bad, they'll go out eventually. It's just a matter of time. But like hu said, Honda MTF is the best fluid for our trannies.

This is the only one I've heard lots of testimonials against.

ok, it sounds safer to just go with honda MTF instead of GM sycromesh. Is there any aditives I can throw in there for better protection?

you don't need anymore additives. the honda mtf has special additives of it's own and that's what makes it the best for our trannies.
Honda MTF is definitely best. if you get synchromesh, get the pennzoil. made in the same factory as GM's, just repackaged for pennzoil. same stuff, but $5/qt
