cheap way to gain power on 92 accord????
i have a 92 accord with the f22 non-vtech and i was wonderin a cheap way 2 give me some power...i'm new and don't know much but i have exhaust and intake now and am runnin 16.7 in the 1/4...help me out please!
1000 bucks spent wisely and finding the right deal at the right time.
You could do a dsm turbo setup.
Just rape the turbo manifold injectors and everything else you can get off of a 90s eclipse talon or laser.Buy a chipped P06 ecu and pay someone to tune it with uberdata or crome.
it's not that expensive really and you don't have to buy it all at one time.Just reaseach what you need and pick it up here and there each time you have extra money.

how many miles on your ride? done a compression test yet? do that before deciding to boost. if you're lucky (like i was), you'll spend less than 1K...if you're compression test is crap, rebuild/overhaul your motor first. it doesn't sound like the cool thing to do but it's the right thing.
Cheap ways to improve 1/4 mile times.
wait reduction in general. i.e. throw out the spare tire.
Disconnect the p/s pump.
Buy a short shifter.

so get a turbo off a talon and put it on my honda? that will work? i would have 2 bore out my motor and redo my internals right?
if you're compression test results are good, you don't need to do anything. keep in mind, on a stock F22, you're gonna want to stay at about 6 pssi...some do more and then some blow their motors...up to you. building your motor will be about 2-3 times the cost of running a diy turbo @ 6 psi on stock internals...search. you're gonna need the turbo, mani (2g DSM mani...redrilled to fit the F22 head, 1G manis are more prone to cracking, iirc.), bov, wastegate (if not internally gated), ic, ic piping, DSM injectors (440cc black tops or 450cc blue tops), turbo timer (if you run a turbo that has coolant lines for it) or run the coolant lines, oil pressure/boost gauges, oil feed/return lines, a new clutch would be a good idea...homemadeturbo.com is your friend.
edit: oh yeah, very important...chipped ecu (p06) owns S-AFC for engine management.

thanks alot...but on that chipped ecu...can i get that now with jus my intake exhaust and header?...i have a header now b/c it will be awhile b4 i get my turbo and i found a good header at a cheap price so i went ahead and got it...another thing is...will i have 2 do any mods for my intercooler and tubing?....b/c it dont look like i have much room at all down there

you can buy the egay piping kits or have some made...you can run a chipped ecu for the turbo but it would need to be tuned so you'd be better off waiting til you get the turbo on unless you have someone that can tune it for you...i've seen some people do it...believe me, you have enough room to run your piping...you may need to drill/dremel some parts but i doubt it...it would be minimal unless you go crazy.
wat about a/c? would i have 2 do away with that...it is hot in ms now lol so i could jus get a turbo off a talon or eclipse and get an turbo header 4 my car and bolt the turbo 2 my header and run the oil and intercooler pipes...???

If the turbo installation doesn't interfere with either the Condenser/intercooler or the A/C Compressor; leave it there.
If you should find a need to really motivate your ride, just don't turn the A/C on.

i was going to say if you want to be cheap about it get out and push.........you can do a lot of things but the cheapest one? swap out your trans for a H22 trans to gain some speed through the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times

no, but if you do a little looking around you can find someone who can, they will ask you to send ur shifter to them and then they will ship it back. if this is your daily driver, then i would go to a junk yard and pull one from a car there and send them that one! good luck with that.
as far as the shift adaptor goes: you would be better off going with the short shifter, an adaptor wont shorten your throw as much and when you go in 5th gear it will hit the side of your box. but the choice is up to you!

nitrous, best bang for the buck.. my f22 w/ i/h/e and a 75 wet shot ran 14.5 @103 back in the day IIRC
cheap, fast, and reliable, you can only have two.

The day they come out with a Nitros system capable of being throttled and with tanks large enough to cover my commutes to Boston will be the day I install one.
There's one thing that can be said for N/A Moose Motors and Turbo's:
"You're not tethered to some guy with a recharging station"
If I'm in East BumF..k somewhere, I don't want to have to worry about how much I've got left in the tank...

yeah your tethered to a guy with a dyno, wideband o2, a ROM editor, and tuning skills. $400 tuning sessions
o well gotta pay to play.
i have ditchd the NAWWWWs and got this

but nitrous was a cheap, quick fix and a good FI starter for me.
i just realized the OP has a 4th gen and yeah teh dsm junkyard turbo setup is another route, not as cheap as nitrous but worth it IMO. check this thread.
