What should I do to my Suspension
Just bought a DA and the previous owner slammed it on coil overs with Stock Struts
It's about as low as it can go without tire rubbing, and I believe the struts are blown(read: very bouncy)
So I am thinking of doing a few things in about a month. First idea is to get new struts and put the stock springs(which I have) on.
Second idea is to possibly get some Koni struts, or some other nice brand and raise the coilovers about an inch. The problem with that though is I think the coilovers are cheap and don't know if they'll ever be decent for a street car.
Third choice is to get some Eibach pro kit springs and stock struts. Rode around in a civic with that setup and thought it was really smooth with good handling for a street setup.
What do ya think?

First off, what are your plans for your car? Track use, if so what kind? Spiritied driving, regular DD? Do you want any ride height adjustability? Price range?
Remember do it once, and do it right!

Mostly commuting for now, though I am very interested in attending a few auto-x and possibly track days on a road course, but that probably wouldn't be for awhile. I really don't speed on the street, maybe the occasional spirited onramp/offramp.
I really like the lowered stance, but it's definately something I can live without because the ride is pretty uncomfortable.
Oh and I was just looking around on ebay and I think the coilovers might be BOMZ racing, which go for around 50 bucks haha. So I'm guessing they're grade A garbage. I can only guess by the color of the spring and the same looking spanner wrenches, plus he said he got some "jdm" coilovers for cheap on ebay haha.

Oh and is it unwise to buy used springs? I don't know how much they wear over time and was just wondering in case I find a good deal or anything.
If I went the eibach route I think i'd spend just over $400. 200 for the springs, 200 for new struts. and while I can spend that much I don't necessarily want to right now...

yeah, I know. When test driving it I didn't realize how bad the suspension was, just thought it was a little stiff because of the coilovers. But after driving it awhile I think I'd be fine to go back to stock for awhile...

Since you do want a good reliable setup and plan on doing some tracking i woud recommend Koni's with Ground controls. You will be spending more than 400, but its a great investment.
I see no reason to spend 400 bucks now, and another 800 dollars later on a better setup that you could have got from the start.
Since you have the stock springs just put those back on, and since if your stock shocks are blown, then go to a junk yard, or check the classifieds or ebay, and see if you could pick up a used set just temporarily unitl you can install a good new setup.

Koni/Ground Control on my DA and never looked back. 450f/400r offered good balance between street and track.
