Default 15x7 wheel question

Does anybody know if a 15x7 wheel with a 225 50 tire will fit on a 89 crx si ok? I was not sure if there would be any rubbing problems or not. I will be autocrossing this car and wanted to make sure they would be ok before buying. thanks

225 is going to be a tad to big. I would stick with the 205.

Default Re: 15x7 wheel question (CRX Toad)

what class are you running in?

225 isn't the biggest problem- the 50 is. if you want 225s on a 15in wheel on a crx, you are going to need 225/45's.

you're going to need fender "modification" no matter what.

if you want them on 15x8's (well, you do) you are opening an even bigger can of worms with the required offsets.

if the car touches the street, i'd suggest 205's, since the tires you are going to find in 225 aren't street friendly. actually, i'd suggest 205/50's no matter what right now, since when you are in the class/at the point in driving that it matters, you won't have to ask this question. so, while i may have explained my reasoning a bit, and i will be running 225's (in some flavor) when my car is finally moving, i agree with toad on this one.
